On November 8, 2021, Girls For Future had our UK premiere at COP26, the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference. Nina was in attendance and participated in a post-screening discussion with other youth activists from around the world in an event hosted by the Global Alliance of Incinerator Alternatives (GAIA) and the COP 26 Coalition.

From November 1 - 14, Girls For Future will be streaming online worldwide at the Climate Crisis Film Festival (CCFF), the UK’s first climate action film festival.

Pioneering, aspirational, grassroots and youth-led, the diverse and eye-opening programming of CCFF focuses on channeling constructive collective action and providing an intersectional analysis of climate, politics, economics and social justice.

On November 8, we're partnering with the Global Alliance of Incinerator Alternatives (GAIA) for a special in-person screening at COP26 in Glasgow.

The event includes a post-screening discussion with our own Nina Azahra, who will speak about fighting plastic waste trade in Indonesia, along with Daru Rini, Ecoton (Indonesia); Emma Priestland - BFFP’s Global Corporate Campaigns Coordinator (UK); Maria Eduarda Bezerra, BFFP Youth Ambassador (Brasil).

We're thrilled to be screening at Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival in their 2021 Docs for Schools Focus program!

Through Docs for Schools, teachers across Canada will be able to access Girls for Future, plus education packages so they can explore the themes and issues of Climate Change and the environment with their students.

“Kinder der Klimakrise - 4 Mädchen, 3 Kontinente, 1 Mission” (German title) and “Objectif climate - quatre filles, un combat” (French title) were broadcast for the first time on ARTE, a German/French public service broadcaster.

Girls For Future is officially part of the Chicago International Children's Film Festival! For the first time in its 38-year history, this great fest will be presented online across the United States, with limited in-person screenings at FACETS and ChiTown Drive-In.

Girls for Future virtually attended Milan for PRECOP! From September 30 - October 2, UNICEF Italia hosted panels on environment and sustainability, plus an exclusive screening of our film at 7 PM CEST on October 1, followed by a Q&A with director Irja Von Bernstorff.

Girls For Future screened at the 61st edition of the Zlin Film Festival in the Czech Republic, a globally reknowned International Film Festival for Children and Youth.

From September 9 - 15, 2021, the film was featured in the Competition program: European Documentary Films for Young Audiences.

Big, exciting news: NINA FIGHTS, the stand-alone 25 minute short documentary following Nina's journey in Girls For Future, has won the Children Award at NaturVision. This award is especially significant as it is selected by an all-youth jury. NaturVision is a preeminent German film festival celebrating nature and the environment.
